I just now discovered this web sight on my desk top. I am a member of Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church in Portland, Or. James Day, music director of our church—–started —- what we call “night Prayer” about 3 and a half years go. We gathered all volunteers (usually about 6 women and 4 to 6 men—–singers) Jim playing the organ and organizing the whole thing and a singer (a professional soprano) —–. We started meeting at 8 PM for practice and then put on our choir robs, turned down the lighting in sanctuary——and then performed our “Compline” for a half hour. Jim Day was the originator of the event and has a history with a large church in Seattle. He is a professional musician and composer and wise man. We have continued every Sunday till present. Sunday eve at 7 or 8 PM at Mt Tabor Presbyterian Church, Portland Or.
